We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer, reporting directly to Department Manager to join our team based in Bangkok.

About the opportunity we offer:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead/ be a part of the mechanical design team working on onshore or offshore feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED, detailed design and EPC/ EPCM projects.
• Perform mechanical engineering activities and review activities carried out by Engineers.
• Liaise with other departments, clients, vendors, subcontractors and third parties.
• Participate in inter-disciplines, project, client and vendor meetings.
• Perform all Inter-discipline check
• Prepare scope of work, manhour and cost estimates for proposals.
• Groom young engineers and provide advice to peers in his field of expertise.
• Principal Engineer, who is a technical specialist, has the added responsibility to act in a consultancy role, providing advice and carrying out specialized engineering tasks.
• As a Lead Engineer on project, he is also responsible for the following:
  • Advise the Department Manger the manpower and skill levels required to ensure smooth execution of the project.
  • Assign work to the team appropriately.
  • Conduct meetings at regular intervals with team members to review progress and share the lesson learnt & typical issues.
  • Overall responsible for the manhour & schedule monitoring and control and quality of the work produced.
  • Organize and maintain project technical filing and archiving.
  • Primary involvement in a typical project includes:
  • Rotating equipment selection/sizing and engineering OR Mechanical design and engineering of Static Equipment AND/OR design and engineering of Packages AND/OR design and engineering of HVAC system.
  • Review project scope documents and arrange for access or issue copy of relevant documents to the team for reference and implementation. Ensure any subsequent revisions are duly circulated to the team members.
  • Perform site visits (onshore and offshore) as required. Prepare/Check equipment mechanical data sheets, specifications & requisitions/enquiry packages.
  • Perform vendor offer review & Prepare/check technical clarifications and technical bid evaluation.
  • Carryout vendor drawings/documents review and vendor data incorporation.
  • Prepare/Check other deliverables like mechanical equipment list, material handling study report, design adequacy check report etc.
  • Witness shop inspection and testing.
  • Assist in plant erection, commissioning and start-up.

About you:

We love to hear from you and how you match with this position. To be successful in this mission you should consider the following requirements:

• Bachelors Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum Level II Professional Engineering License from the Engineering Council of Thailand (if any).
• Minimum eight (8) years experience for senior engineer and fifteen (15) years experience for principal engineer in mechanical equipment design and engineering in Oil & Gas, Refineries, Petrochemical, Chemical and related industries. Experience should cover at least five (5) years of mechanical equipment design and engineering with Engineering Consultant or EPC/ EPCM Contractor.
• Highly motivated and strong leadership quality.
• Conversant with Local and International Codes and Standards like API, ASTM, ASME, ANSI, TEMA, ISO, ASHRAE, ARI, NFPA, UL, FM etc.
• Good Knowledge on machine Noise, Vibration and auxiliary units (seal oil, lube oil, shaft sealing, drives etc.)
• Knowledge on materials, welding technology and European codes & standards will be an added advantage.
• Computer literacy with good knowledge on MS-office, mechanical equipment design calculation and/or HVAC design calculation software packages.
