NES Fircroft is looking for a Mechanical Technician for an initial 6 month contract in Coevorden, Netherlands. 

This is a hands-on technical role focused on the repair and refurbishment of fixed cutter drill bits, supporting operations across the global energy sector.

Within the individual, we are looking for someone from a mechanical or metal engineering background, and has a couple of years' experience within a technical or workshop based role.

This will be a Monday to Friday role (0800-1600hrs) and we will require an EU national, or someone who has the right to work in NL.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

• Mechanical repair and assembly of drill bits
• Torch brazing (oxy/acetylene), flame spray hardfacing
• Use of grinders and CNC Erfurt machine
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Collaborating with colleagues across departments when required

Key experience required:

• MBO-level education in a mechanical or metal engineering discipline (equivalent to BTEC Level 3)
• Practical skills in mechanical assembly or metalworking
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow structured methods
• Hands-on mentality and strong safety awareness

Nice to Have:

• Experience with welding, grinding, brazing, or hardfacing techniques
• Familiarity with CNC equipment or hand tools
• Knowledge of basic quality control processes and tools
• Basic understanding of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Good command of Dutch or English
