General ManagementWe are looking for a Financial accountant to work in central London (3 days a week with 2 days WFH) for 6 – 12 months.

Description:
Purpose of Role:
• Responsible for statutory accounting and compliance for UK financial reporting
Areas of Responsibility Competence Level:
Management
• Providing management of accounting and compliance obligations
• Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
• Provide accounting functional excellence, advisory and governance across the various Harbour Energy locations
• Maintain and develop a robust system of internal controls over financial reporting to ensure the reliability of financial statement and compliance with relevant UK plc requirements
Accounting Compliance
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and local gaap, accounting policies and procedure, and external regulatory and legal requirements for:
• UK Statutory Accounts, Provisions & Compliance, Dividends, Interco Transactions, Management Charges, IFRS2, Hedging etc.
• Support the external statutory audit process
Critical Skills, Qualifications Experience, etc.:
• University degree
• ACA professional accounting qualification
• Extensive experience in financial reporting within a multinational company and/or Big 4 firm, with a strong preference for experience in the oil and gas sector
• Strong technical accounting skills, with in-depth knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and internal control requirements
• Proven track record of managing relationships with auditors
• Exceptional management abilities with the ability to train, mentor, and develop staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Enjoys challenging status quo and looks for continuous improvement in delivering better business results
