The Role
We are looking for a Junior Project Administrator / Document Controller to join our friendly and supportive team at our Head Office in Godalming. This role is well suited to a graduate or early-career professional who has already gained some experience in an office-based environment and is looking to build a long-term career within engineering and construction project delivery. You will provide essential administrative and document control support to project teams, helping to ensure that project information is well organised, compliant, and readily accessible. The role offers clear opportunities for development and progression into disciplines such as project management, project engineering, architecture, or building services.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage project documentation and drawings across multiple Document Management System's (DMS)
• Ensure document control procedures are followed consistently across projects
• Maintain accurate records, registers, and logs for project documentation
• Update and maintain company templates and controlled documents
• Carry out document quality control checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
• Support project teams with general administrative tasks as required
• Liaise with internal teams, clients, and external partners regarding document submission and retrieval
• Assist with the continuous improvement of document control and administrative processes
Experience & Skills
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Proactive, with initiative and a clear willingness to learn and develop
• Strong communication skills and confidence working as part of a team
• Good problem-solving abilities and a positive, can-do attitude
• Competent in MS Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to quickly pick up new systems and technical skills
• 1-2 years' experience in an office-based administrative, document control, or project support role
• Experience within engineering, construction, or a regulated industry is advantageous
Qualifications
• Ideally a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as business administration, construction, engineering, project management, or a related discipline
• Additional training or education in administration, document control, or project environments is advantageous
