About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Document Controller to join our Ground Engineering team as part of the Sizewell C project and the Geotechnical Subcontract Alliance (GSA).

The Geotechnical Sub Alliance (GSA) is delivering the specialist ground engineering works that form the foundation of the Sizewell C nuclear power station. Our teams work with advanced techniques - including piling, diaphragm walling, soil mixing and grouting - to create the structures that make the project possible.

We operate as a collaborative alliance, integrating multiple contractors, designers, and suppliers into a single delivery model. High-quality document control is essential to ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery.

Role purpose: To lead the flow, accuracy, and governance of project documentation across design, construction, and handover stages. You will manage controlled documents, drawings, and technical deliverables within the project's Common Data Environment (CDE), ensuring compliance with ISO 19650 and nuclear governance requirements. You will work closely with engineers, site teams, suppliers, and alliance partners to maintain a single source of truth for all project information.

The physical working environment for this role is Orwell Logistics Park, with regular interaction with site and alliance teams.

What you'll be doing

The successful cndidate will have the following key responsibilities:
  • Manage all controlled documents, drawings, and technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Operate and maintain the project CDE (e.g., Asite), ensuring correct metadata, workflows, revision control, and distribution;
  • Ensure all documentation complies with ISO 19650 standards and alliance information management procedures;
  • Support design, engineering, and construction teams with document submissions, transmittals, and deliverables forecasting;
  • Maintain accurate registers, trackers, and audit-ready records for internal and external assurance;
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure correct document formatting, naming, and submission quality;
  • Participate in project meetings to provide updates on documentation status, risks, and outstanding actions;
  • Support archiving, retention, and handover processes in line with nuclear and alliance requirements;
  • Identify opportunities to improve document control processes, workflows, and system configuration.
Who we're looking for

The following skills and experience are essential:
  • Proven experience as a Document Controller on major construction, engineering, infrastructure, or nuclear projects;
  • Strong working knowledge of CDE platforms (Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint, ProjectWise, or similar);
  • Understanding of ISO 19650 principles and structured information management.
  • Experience managing drawings, technical specifications, design deliverables, and revision control;
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in high-volume, fast-paced environments;
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with engineers, site teams, and suppliers;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
  • Experience in nuclear, regulated, or safety-critical environments;
  • Knowledge of geotechnical, civil, or structural engineering documentation;
  • Experience supporting multi-partner alliance or joint-venture delivery modules;
