Materials Manager
We have a current opportunity for a Materials Manager on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Fort Mill, SC, with a leading renewables manufacturing company.
Location: Fort Mill, SC
Salary: $103,000–$135,000 annually up to 15% bonus

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Strategy & Management
- Maintain 98% service levels while minimizing carrying costs using advanced forecasting and inventory techniques (e.g., ABC analysis, AI tools).
- Manage end-to-end inventory across sites, implementing FIFO, Kanban, VMI, and obsolescence controls.
- Ensure ERP system accuracy for real-time inventory visibility.
- Translate forecasts into inventory plans, prioritize fulfillment by strategic importance.
- Lead daily/weekly SIOP execution and support long-range (18–60 month) planning.
- Align with Sales, Production, and Logistics on capacity and constraints.
- Negotiate global supplier terms with a focus on flexibility, lead times, and sustainability.
- Mitigate risk through alternate sourcing, supplier audits, and customs optimization.
- Implement Lean/PFEP principles to streamline handling and improve space utilization.
- Drive automation projects (e.g., RFID, AS/RS) and storage cost efficiency.
- Optimize SKU layout and enable JIT where applicable.
- Ensure >98% inventory accuracy via audits, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Lead waste-reduction and carbon footprint tracking initiatives.
- Mentor planning staff and foster a data-driven, results-oriented culture.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to align inventory strategies with business goals.
Required
- Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- 7–10 years in materials/inventory management (5 in electronics, automotive, or semiconductor)
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
- Strong ERP (SAP/Oracle), forecasting (Kinaxis, Blue Yonder), and data tools (Power BI/Tableau)
- MBA or Master's in Supply Chain
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949, IPC-610)
- Experience with BOM management, component obsolescence, and complex supply chains
