At JetBrains, code is our passion. Ever since we started in 2000, we have strived to make the strongest, most effective developer tools on earth. Our tools speed up production by automating routine checks and corrections, freeing developers to grow, discover, and create.

As JetBrains continues to grow, our Procurement team is looking to hire a German- and English-speaking Senior Procurement Specialist to support the team in Germany and remotely in other locations. Initial duties will be focused on managing the team's daily agenda with the goal of handling more projects and responsibilities independently over time.
Key Responsibilities:

Procurement strategy and operations
  • Lead assigned procurement tasks, ensuring alignment with KPIs, team guidelines, and best practices.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including RFx (RFI, RFQ, and RFP), sourcing decisions, and order execution.
  • Monitor and optimize Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes, proactively addressing non-PO purchases.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements (e.g. ESG and facultative compensation).
Vendor and contract management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to secure optimal pricing, conditions, and service levels.
  • Manage supplier qualification, performance evaluation, and contract life cycle (renewals, documentation, and compliance).
  • Support strategic supplier development and benchmarking initiatives.
Project support and cross-functional collaboration
  • Lead and contribute to complex procurement projects in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure procurement is embedded early in project planning and execution stages.
  • Collaborate with global and regional teams to align local strategies with global best practices.
Data analysis and reporting
  • Maintain internal databases (e.g. vendor data, contract terms, and purchasing volumes).
  • Prepare cost analyses, performance dashboards, and ad-hoc reports.
  • Identify improvement opportunities based on data insights and communicate them proactively.
Team and process development
  • Support colleagues across locations and provide backup when needed.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members in line with internal training plans.
  • Promote adherence to procurement policies and foster a culture of continuous improvement and digital innovation.

Required skills and qualifications:

Education and experience
  • A bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • At least four years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles with both operational and strategic exposure.
Technical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Experience with procurement platforms like Coupa, Ariba, or similar.
  • Fluent English and German, both written and spoken.
Soft skills
  • Strong ownership, responsibility, and the ability to drive initiatives to completion.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Technical aptitude, with a passion for digital tools and process innovation.
  • High personal integrity and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
