Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria
  • Highly developed specialised knowledge of the Provider Selection Regime and the Procurement Act 2023, its application within the public sector. This knowledge must be underpinned by theory and experience.
  • Proven track record of forging robust stakeholder relationships, with the skills to on-board, influence and motivate stakeholders throughout a programme of work.
  • Working knowledge of project management and project forward planning underpinned by applied experience.
  • IT skills literate in Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power point, Atamis, spend comparison services.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of eProcurement systems.
  • Working knowledge of National Procurement Strategies and associated plans.

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • MCIPS, or working toward level 5/6, (Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) or equivalent.

Desirable criteria
  • Higher level Management / Leadership Qualification (such as Hons Degree, Post Grad or Masters) or equivalent experience and academic ability for the demands of the post

Experience

Essential criteria
  • expert knowledge in EU / UK procurement legislation and its application
  • proven experience of managing large complex procurement programmes that cut across a variety of stakeholders
  • proven experience of developing commercial relationship that provide benefits (including financial) to the organisation
  • strong relationship management designed to deliver and implement project delivery in a challenging environment
  • successful project management

Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)
It is the policy of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who are new to the Trust who require DBS clearance for the post they have been offered, are required to pay the cost of their DBS. The method of payment for this is via salary deduction from your first month's pay.
