Vacancy: Procurement Operational Buyer

The Role

Chromalloy is seeking a confident, self-assured, and proactive Operational Buyer to join our complex, fast-paced MRO organization of approximately 180 employees in the Netherlands. This is not an entry-level position, but a role for someone who intentionally chooses operational purchasing and thrives in a dynamic environment with many stakeholders needing your support simultaneously.

As an Operational Buyer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end operational purchasing process within one or more assigned programs. You understand the product range of your designated product group(s), work largely independently, and stay aligned with other purchasing activities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Placing purchase orders within the authorized budget
• Monitoring and following up on purchase orders, including:
  • Deviations in order confirmations
  • Price discrepancies
  • Rescheduling and delivery timelines
• Proactively communicating with suppliers and internal customers about progress, issues, and bottlenecks
• Identifying and resolving issues independently; escalating to Strategic Purchasing or Lead Buyer when necessary
• Reporting to internal stakeholders on matters relating to price, delivery times, and quality
• Participating in internal and external meetings, such as Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)

About the Organization

Chromalloy operates in a large and technically complex aerospace MRO environment. This is not a small or straightforward purchasing environment. You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders such as:

• Facilities & Maintenance
• Aircraft Parts
• NPI Programs
• Strategic Purchasing

Unexpected urgent situations - such as Aircraft on Ground (AOG) - may occur, requiring you to make quick and conscious prioritization decisions.

We therefore seek someone with the right mindset, personality, and professional posture. Knowledge is important, but attitude is decisive in this role.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

• MBO+ or HBO degree, preferably in a technical field
• Mid-career level
• Demonstrable experience as an Operational Buyer
• A genuine desire to continue working in operational procurement

Skills & Competencies

• Strong administrative skills and high accuracy
• Process-oriented, yet able to navigate different and sometimes conflicting interests
• Assertive - able to push back when necessary and protect the boundaries of your role
• Excellent prioritization and communication skills
• Strong command of both Dutch and English
• Experience with ERP Maximo is a plus
• NEVI 1 or equivalent purchasing qualification is an advantage
