Job Introduction
We have a brilliant opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our Corporate Procurement team.
You'll play a vital role in delivering value for money and supporting service outcomes across the council.
You'll manage a portfolio of procurement projects ranging from £100,000 up to £50 million, ensuring best practice and compliance throughout.
This role may be suitable for home working, following an assessment. Home-based roles require a minimum of one day in the office/site per week.
Interviews for this role will be held on 9 March

Main Responsibility
- Managing procurement projects to maximise efficiencies and improve services, including contract management.
- Advising and training colleagues on drafting tender documents and evaluation approaches.
- Building strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Working with service areas to understand needs and influence procurement strategies.
- Delivering social value through procurement activity to provide "More for MK".
The Ideal Candidate
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (Level 4 Diploma mandatory; Level 5 preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of public sector procurement processes and regulations.
- Experience in procurement activity, ideally in the public sector.
- Strong skills in contract management and delivering social value.
- Ability to analyse financial and performance data using Excel.
- Strategic thinking, excellent communication, and resilience under pressure.
