Location: Hybrid working based in North West UK, with ideally 2 days per week in the office (Stockport).

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
In this role, you will be the focal point for all procurement topics ensuring that the purchasing needs of technical goods and services for the sites within the UK area are met. Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities, from processing SAP purchase requisitions to preparing, executing, and evaluating tenders up to €75K, as well as negotiating, awarding, and implementing local contracts (S2C).
- Implement global and regional procurement strategies, while developing tailored approaches for local categories.
- Build strong supplier relationships, covering identification, qualification, performance management, and onboarding with agreed terms and conditions.
- Act as the critical link between BASF's global procurement organisation and local site needs, fostering productive stakeholder relationships.
- Drive cost savings and process efficiencies, challenging spending and promoting standard tools, processes, and best practices across the region, in line with corporate governance.
- Support global projects with local procurement expertise.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- Professional purchasing qualification (e.g., CIPS) or significant strategic buying experience in technical/indirect procurement, including site services, engineering, maintenance, or HR.
- Strong stakeholder management capability with the ability to collaborate, influence, and build effective relationships across all levels and regions.
- Solid systems competence, including SAP R/3 Cobalt or SAP S/4HANA, plus excellent MS Office skills.
- Proven ability to manage workload independently, prioritize effectively, multitask, and operate with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills (fluency in English required), along with strong commercial and contract negotiation capabilities.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally Europe; a valid UK driving licence is preferred.
