Key Activities & Responsibilities
Governance, Policy & Compliance
Create, update, and maintain the Global Procurement Policy. Ensure alignment between OPCO processes, local policies, and the global policy framework.
Cascade corporate guidelines (e.g., Procurement Policy) to OPCOs and verify that local standards, policies, and processes comply with global procurement policy.
Conduct process testing and data-driven assessments of procurement transactions to identify outliers, anomalies, and control lapses.
Report findings to the Global Lead, Procurement Excellence.
Identify global and local process non-compliances; develop action plans and drive closure through cross-functional stakeholder management.
Conduct SOP reviews and deliver regular SOP-related training to OPCOs. Maintain version control and accessibility of all procedural documentation.
Risk Management & Fraud Prevention
Develop and manage a global strategy to identify procurement-related fraud risks and actual incidents through detailed data analysis and on-site audits.
Implement risk mitigation initiatives at a global level and cascade to local OPCOs to ensure consistent application.
Provide risk guidance during high-value or critical sourcing events, ensuring effective due diligence and continuous risk monitoring.
Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Analyze throughput times across the purchase requisition to purchase order (PR-to-PO) cycle to identify process bottlenecks.
Design, implement, and standardize improved processes for procurement operations.
Establish and drive regular review of Procurement KPIs, including back-testing of processes, unit prices, and savings.
Promote cost benchmarking, market analysis, and should-cost modeling among category managers.
Partner with OPCOs and process champions for continuous improvement; ensure sufficient training and change management support is provided.
Systems & Digital Procurement
Identify system capabilities required for effective procurement management; coordinate with IT and relevant stakeholders to address system needs.
Back-test digital procurement systems to ensure compliance with global policy and SOPs. Recommend and implement system enhancements where gaps are identified.
Strategic Sourcing Support (Sprint Participation)
Actively participate in strategic sourcing sprints, providing governance oversight and risk guidance throughout the sourcing process.
Ensure control measures are effective during sprints; conduct internal checks to test control effectiveness.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
Assist the Global Lead, Procurement Excellence in improving the control framework, reporting capabilities, and other initiatives to strengthen governance and compliance.
Develop and maintain relationships with OPCO process champions to support knowledge transfer and alignment.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
Education:
Minimum 4-year Academic Degree (Business Finance / BSc
Post graduate degree in Supply Chain Management and / or equivalent professional qualification (Preferred)
Experience
3-5 years relevant working experience
2-3 years of relevant working and managerial experience in Supply chain governance/ Process Excellence procurement
Understanding of emerging supply chain practices, technology and tools
Experience working in a medium to large organization, managing Supply chain governance/ Process Excellence
Experience working across global locations/ regions and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure and integrity challenges
Excellent content knowledge around Oracle, Coupa, Ivalua, SAP, Ariba and other ERP technologies
Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices (SCM)
Industry / Certifications (Advantageous):
Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)
Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification
Six Sigma certification (advantageous)
