About the Candidate

Candidates must have Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Advanced Diploma in Procurement & Supply with a good understanding of the Public Contract Regulations and its application within public sector procurement.

About the Role

The Procurement Officer role is part of Education Partnership North East (EPNE) Procurement Department based at Bede Campus, Sunderland and is responsible for the provision of an effective, efficient and professional procurement service that delivers on-going cost efficiencies, compliance, quality and service benefits. The Procurement Officer will also have responsibility, for operational procurement, ensuring all transactional operations completed by Procurement Administrator are completed in a timely manner.

Role Responsibilities
  • To support an effective and professional procurement service that delivers both quality and Value for Money (VfM) outcomes.
  • Lead on procurement processes engineering tender portfolios to deliver successful contractual outcomes that deliver VfM for all EPNE stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of the UK Contracts Regulations and be fully conversant with Financial regulations, operational policies and procedures and appropriate legislation to ensure all purchases comply with relevant guidance

Qualifications
  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Advanced Diploma in Procurement & Supply

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Working knowledge of operating within organisational policies, such as, Financial Regulations
  • Working experience of operating within Public Contract Regulations and organisational policies
  • Working experience of purchasing and supply chain activity
  • Experience of working to both agreed individual and team targets
  • IT skills literate in Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power point
  • Working knowledge of eProcurement systems
