Join us as a Procurement Officer

As a Procurement Officer, you will play a pivotal role as the direct link between colleagues across the North East Combined Authority and our procurement and legal partners. You will be central to ensuring that procurement activity is delivered efficiently, compliantly and to a high standard, providing timely advice and guidance to budget holders and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting the smooth operation of essential organisational systems and processes.

In this role, you will manage the end-to-end preparation of procurement documentation, ensuring all activity meets Contract Standing Orders, Financial and Statutory Regulations, and wider legislative requirements. You will advise on the most effective procurement routes, including the use of Framework Agreements, and ensure accurate maintenance of the Corporate Contract Register and associated logs. Your ability to problem-solve, interpret regulations and provide clear, practical advice will help drive informed and effective decision making across the organisation.

You will also contribute to the continuous development and improvement of business systems, supporting strong governance and robust procurement practice. This includes playing a key role in information governance-ensuring appropriate document retention and supporting the organisation's responsibilities in this area. As a trusted partner to services, you will help maintain strong relationships from a procurement perspective and support the North East CA's broader decision-making structures.
