Description

This position is also open across our other European OfficesThe CPT Market Analyst supports Cargo Procurement & Trading by delivering high-quality market intelligence, analytics, and asset performance controls. The role combines market analysis, trading support, and KPI controlling for physical assets managed under Project Asset Migration (PAM), ensuring informed commercial decisions and optimal asset returns.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor global and regional supply-demand fundamentals for Residuals, Distillates, and Biofuels.
  • Track price movements, market structure, refinery runs, and arbitrage opportunities.
  • Analyse macroeconomic indicators, freight markets, and regulatory developments affecting marine fuels and biofuels.
  • Develop and maintain pricing, margin, and arbitrage models, including a central arbitrage analytics platform.
  • Track freight markets and risk management tools and integrate them into pricing and scenario analysis.
  • Aggregate, validate, and reconcile data from internal systems and external providers (e.g. Platts, Argus, ICE, EIA, IMO).
  • Support hedging and risk scenarios in close coordination with HD and Trading.
  • Provide actionable insights on trends, spreads, and volatility to traders and originators.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market behaviour; escalate relevant findings.
  • Produce clear, timely reports and Power BI dashboards to support commercial decision-making.
  • Prepare analytical materials and presentations for internal stakeholders and senior management.
  • Monitor and analyse performance KPIs for CPT-managed assets under PAM, including storage terminals and time-chartered vessels.
  • Act as an analytical interface between Trading, Shipping, Operations, Finance, and PAM teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas/Shipping industry
  • Bachelors degree, ideally in an analytical discipline
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capability, proficient in Excel
  • Results oriented and demonstrably commercial
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Energetic, resilient and resourceful, with an ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Experience with Power BI and Python is a plus
