Are you ready to lead high-value procurement activity on some of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects? Balfour Beatty is recruiting a Senior Procurement Manager, responsible for managing a large team and overseeing significant supply chain spend in excess of £100m.
This is a strategic, high-impact leadership role where you'll partner with Project Directors, Commercial Directors and the wider procurement community to deliver best-in-class procurement solutions. With a flexible base location, you'll also need to be comfortable travelling to project sites and offices across the UK when required.

What you'll be doing
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and own the Procurement Strategy for your project or Business Unit.
- Act as a key link between delivery teams and Procurement Centres of Expertise.
- Ensure alignment with main contract terms, BB procurement policy and sustainability goals.
- Lead sourcing activities, tenders and ITTs to deliver best value and exceed savings targets.
- Oversee procurement of materials, plant and subcontract packages.
- Ensure appropriate flow-down of contractual terms.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and supply chain partners.
- Support delivery of the Supply Chain Management Strategy.
- Identify supply chain innovations and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead, nurture and develop a high-performing Procurement Team.
- Ensure best-practice processes, compliance and quality standards are consistently met.
- Oversee tendering, contract management and supplier performance systems (Jaggaer, Oracle).
Essential
- Strong stakeholder management and advanced negotiation skills.
- Category management experience and knowledge of materials/subcontract procurement.
- Solid understanding of legal frameworks and commercial risk.
- Proven track record delivering high-value, complex tenders.
- Experience leading procurement teams in a major project or large organisation.
- Strong organisational, communication and supplier relationship management skills.
- MCIPS or equivalent.
- Advanced negotiation training.
- Senior procurement experience within the relevant sector.
