Are you a proactive and detail oriented procurement professional ready for a new challenge? Then we have an excellent opportunity for you to join one of the biggest FE colleges in Wales. The Grŵp are looking for a strategic procurement officer to lead on our end-to-end purchasing processes. Working with the Director of Financial Services, you would develop a robust procurement strategy that balances significant cost optimisation with strict financial compliance. You will also be a skilful negotiator with the ability to navigate the complexities of UK public procurement rules whilst maintaining a sharp focus on value for money and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities will include:
Strategic leadership - developing and implementing Grŵp wide procurement strategy focused on value for money and efficiencies
Compliance and Tendering - Lead formal tendering, contracts, quotation processes whilst adhering to internal/external and financial regulations
Supplier Management - Manage preferred supplier list and contracts register. Develop strong relationships with our key suppliers on contract negotiations
Performance tracking - Prepare reports on spend analysis, measure effectiveness and track cost savings
Collaboration - Utilise Framework Agreements and external collaborative opportunities to leverage scale.
