Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:

We are looking for a Senior Specialist Base Metals Procurement - Copper & Semifinished Products Europe (1 year contract) to join our team, being based in Berlin or Nuernberg, Germany.

In this role you will:
  • Manages centralised, Regional commodities and monitors spend and performance in close cooperation with HQ, Country CEOs, Cluster Purchasing Managers, Plant Directors, R&D and Logisitics; reports to the Functional Director EU
  • Leads and develops one buyer
  • Sets the commodity strategy providing the best cost competitiveness, reliability of supply and sustainable sourcing, to ensure Prysmians leadership
  • Leads in negotiations, sourcing and improvement projects
  • Ensures to integrate local needs in the regional strategy and negotiation
  • Aligns and proactively informs the countries and main stakeholders about trends and potential impact on materials
  • Manages (future) pricing of materials
  • Manages and ensures compliance to the purchasing processes
  • Performs daily activities linked to metal management and hedging

You are the right fit if you have/are:
  • Procurement experience of 4+ years, with experience in leading a team
  • Knowledge of metal markets and hedging process will be considered a plus
  • Knowledge of traded commodity and commodities financial market will be considered a plus
  • Empowering the team and develop the procurement function
  • Project management skills and competencies, working together in cross functional teams with R&D, Quality, Logistics, Sales and Production
  • Ability to work in an international matrix organisation
  • Solid understanding of the Procurement processes and Commodity Strategies, including supplier performance and development management
  • Ability to obtain technical knowhow to realize -besides unitary cost savings- total cost, quality, sustainability and/or service improvements
  • Strong "commercial DNA"
  • Strong knowledge of Data Analysis, Data Management, Excel, analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills and able to build relationships with different stakeholders
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent, Master preferred
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
