Based in South Mimms, Hertfordshire or Dartford, the role requires travel to sites around the M25 including Leatherhead with a hybrid working model of 3 days a week on site/in the office.

Leading the procurement management activities for CPS who are the M25, National Highways Area 5, asset managers. S upport Senior Procurement and Supply Chain Manager and the Supply Chain Manager in the development of procurement and supply chain engagement strategies which deliver customer priorities and ensure value is maximised. You will be responsible for procuring packages in line with the CPS procurement strategy helping to remove risk and deliver an effective supply chain solution. You will also actively support the Supply Chain Manager in building a supply chain that is equipped to deliver for CPS over the long term.

What you'll be doing
  • Supporting the procurement and estimating teams with tendering, market analysis, supplier selection, risk and opportunity assessments, forecasting requirements.
  • Carrying out supplier moderations and commercial checks for suppliers and past
    performance, a direct link to the SCM Team.
  • Negotiate agreements for the Contract that support on time delivery and meet
    Safety and Sustainability requirements.
  • Assist in the development of an efficient procurement process utilising the best
    practice tools, systems and approaches available within the Parent Companies.
  • Manage and maintain the supplier database known as the Digital Procurement
    Schedule (DPS).
  • Work with the Parent Company Procurement teams to track and report on key
    commodities and markets.
  • Develop Project Wide Framework supply agreements - from initial engagement
    strategy through pricing, selection, negotiation and recommendations - liaising closely with Parent Company Procurement team to benefit from existing best practice approaches.
  • Assist in the development of performance led, long term supplier relationships focusing on value for money, service & product quality and continuous improvement to drive competitive advantage.
  • Assist in the development of local, diverse and SME engagement strategies assist in hosting Meet the Buyer Events and community advertising.
  • Help develop and then play a leading role in delivering the CPS Procurement Strategic objectives.
  • Ensure CPS contract requirements are met, and best value contracts are negotiated to meet and exceed targets.
  • Draw on technical knowledge and lead the production of package ITT's drawing
  • the necessary information from other disciplines within the team.
  • Support CPS by engaging with suppliers that align to our carbon agenda and PAS 2080 objectives.
Who we're looking for
  • Experience of e-tendering portals e.g., Jaggaer.
  • Ability to understand the commercial aspects and its impacts.
  • A measured approach to decision making and the ability to ensure best value
    procurement.
  • Ability to focus on the targets and work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial and accounting principles in order to have sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Able to build strong relationships both internally and externally to foster a fully collaborative working environment, including negotiation.
  • Able to tell truth to power in tough circumstances to ensure SLT fully aware of
    situations, remain effective.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
