** Responsibilities
To identify, plan and deliver benefits for professional services contracts, ensuring deliverables are aligned with the overarching Procurement plan which supports the aims of the University. This will involve creating and delivering appropriate strategies for a range of sub-categories and delivering outcomes defined in the procurement plan.
Leading high value and risk procurements in line with both policy and wider legislation, supporting the lifecycle of contracts and mitigating third party risk for the University.
Providing coaching to a Procurement Co-Ordinator, supporting them in their role and their development. Supporting the Head of Procurement with developing systems, processes and guidance/training to improve the performance of procurement across the University.
Key to success in this role will be the ability to build and manage relationships with diverse groups of people (internal stakeholders, suppliers, senior management) and the ability to constructively challenge.
** Person Specification
It is expected that the role-holder would be a procurement professional with MCIPS qualification or working towards and have a significant level of experience leading high value procurement projects. Experience of managing procurements under public procurement regulations, and within the Procurement Act 2023 is desirable though not essential. Candidates should have experience of managing spend within professional services areas such as recruitment, marketing and legal.
An ability to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with stakeholders will be key to success in this role. As this role has line management responsibility candidates should demonstrate experience and how their leadership style will positively influence their direct report.
