We are recruiting a Principal Procurement Officerat Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Office based / Home working / Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
Team: Procurement and Information Services
This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.
We pay an attractive salary of £42,839 - £46,142 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
Working under the direction of the Procurement and Information Governance Services Manager and the Commercial Lead for Procurement & Collaboration, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality procurement activity across the Council.
You will lead on, and provide expert professional advice for, high-profile collaborative and Caerphilly specific procurement exercises, ensuring all activity aligns with local and national strategies and the Council's published Procurement Forward Work Programme.
The postholder will be responsible for ensuring robust implementation and compliance with procurement legislation across all service areas, while providing effective line management, guidance and support to Procurement Officers and Buyer Assistants.
You will champion best practice by implementing and upholding the Council's Standing Orders for Contracts, Procurement and Contract Management Strategy, supporting the delivery of corporate objectives and actively promoting relevant local and national policies and initiatives.

- Full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or other recognised qualification.
- In depth knowledge of the UK Public Contract Regulations.
- Experience of planning and developing contract arrangements.
- Proven experience at a senior level within a purchasing organisation.
