Main duties of the job
Whatyoull do:
Lead and shape a high-performing procurementfunction across the hospice
Own the full contract lifecycle, fromsourcing to renewal and everything in between
Build strong supplier partnershipsand drive consistent performance
Identify cost-saving opportunities andmaximise value for money
Oversee contract and procurementsystems, ensuring accurate and effective management
Ensure compliance with all relevantlegislation, policies, and governance standards

Job responsibilities
1.ProcurementLeadership
Create and leadthe hospice's centralised procurement function, maintaining consistentpolicies, processes and governance across all departments.
Ensure the Hospiceis on track with its Strategic objective in relation to cost savings.
Own and manage theHospice procurement policy.
Create, own andmanage the clinical asset register including liaising with the Trust andFoundations consultant to procure grants for capital equipment.
Manage clinicalstock reordering and also reconcile NHS invoices with billing
Manage and developthe preferred supplier list and vendor management framework, ensuring robustdue diligence and ongoing supplier performance monitoring.
Conduct regularspend analysis to identify savings opportunities, rationalise the supply baseand support budget holders in making informed purchasing decisions.
Championprocurement best practice across the hospice, providing guidance and support tocolleagues at all levels.
Maintain anddevelop procurement thresholds, approval workflows and delegated authorityframeworks in line with the hospice's financial regulations.
Produce regularmanagement information, spend analytics and savings reports for the Director ofFinance & IT, The Exec team and the SLT (Senior leadership team).
2.Ownershipof Contracts & Contract Management
Maintain fullownership of the hospice's contracts register, ensuring all contracts arecaptured, current and accurately maintained.
Lead on all stagesof the contract lifecycle scoping requirements, tendering, evaluation, award,mobilisation, in-life management, renewal and exit.
Monitor contractperformance (in collaboration with contract owners), KPIs and SLAs, proactivelymanaging underperformance and escalating issues where required. Holdingcontract owners within the Hospice to their responsibility as required.
Drive contractrenewal and renegotiation activity, ensuring continuity of supply and theachievement of best value.
Identify andmitigate contractual risk, working closely with the Finance team and, whereappropriate, external advisors.
Manage supplierrelationships at a strategic level, acting as the principal point of escalationfor contract disputes and service failures.
