Job Summary
This opportunity is within the Commercial and Procurement Operations directorate, which delivers compliant, high-quality procurement activities for internal and external customers, adhering to public procurement regulations.
The successful candidate will deliver compliant procurements for GCA and departments across Government using various procurement routes and commercial agreements whilst also supporting the continuous development of procurement expertise across the department.
Your work will directly ensure good policy outcomes, save taxpayer money, and establish the GCA as a robust central commercial organisation for the public sector.

Working flexibly, delivering outcomes
GCA operates a smarter working model that balances flexibility with collaboration. Successful candidates are expected to spend at least 26 days per quarter (approximately 2 days per week, pro-rata) at their contracted office, another GCA site, or off-site for meetings. For the remainder of the time, you may work from home or another suitable location that meets business needs.

Selection Process

Key Accountabilities:
- Contribute to the delivery of the Procurement Operations business targets through the delivery of compliant and commercially sound procurements in line with the public procurement regulations.
- Collaborating, briefing and supporting internal and external customers and stakeholders, ensuring they are informed about procedures, progress, issues and risks timely and effectively, establishing appropriate governance and relationship arrangements.
- Identifying and communicating relevant areas of risk and gaining agreement on how it is to be managed and mitigated.
- Producing high quality procurement documents, including tender documents, reports, and bidder debrief correspondence
- Managing and manipulating complex data using numeracy skills and tools to produce reporting outputs
- Ensure that a full audit trail is preserved on actions relating to individual procurements and that the central record is continuously maintained
- Actively seek out and implement opportunities for continuous improvements within the procurement processes and GCA standard operating procedures
- Develop and implement a GCA knowledge management culture and establish robust knowledge development, collation and delivery processes
- Develop and coach procurement skills, identifying knowledge gaps and understanding training needs
- Lead and guide team members, manage performance to ensure a high-performing team, and support staff development through regular feedback
