In this role, you will be working in our Commercial Division (Procurement & Contracts Department), supporting Al-Awalia's operations by overseeing procurement activities, ensuring efficient processes, compliance, and value-driven sourcing across the organization.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Adherence to quality, health & safety, information security, and business continuity policies.
- Supervise and coordinate daily procurement operations, ensuring smooth end-to-end processes.
- Assign and delegate tasks to Procurement Specialists and Officers for PRs, RFQs, and contract processing.
- Review and approve PR analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to PO creation.
- Support end users in understanding procurement processes, including RFE, PR, and PO workflows.
- Evaluate supplier quotations to ensure best value for money and total cost of ownership.
- Create and manage purchase orders with clear specifications, terms, and delivery conditions.
- Monitor and expedite deliveries, coordinating with vendors to resolve delays where necessary.
- Conduct vendor performance evaluations and maintain accurate vendor management records.
- Monitor departmental KPIs and prepare monthly reports.
- Review customer satisfaction feedback and implement improvement initiatives, including training when required.
- Ensure proper documentation, filing, and data accuracy for audit readiness.
- Support internal and external audits, including documentation, meetings, and corrective action plans.
- Ensure proper documentation of meetings, including preparation and circulation of minutes.
- Drive awareness and training sessions for end users on procurement processes and compliance.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and control systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including process enhancements, templates, and SOP updates.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties relevant to the role as assigned by the Procurement & Contract Manager.
About you
For you to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 6-7 years of relevant procurement experience.
- Experience within construction materials or similar industries is preferred.
- Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain are an advantage.
- Strong command of the English language; Arabic is an advantage.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and contract management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under time constraints.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to guide and support team members.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
- Proactive, results-oriented approach with strong planning and organizational skills.
