Procurement Transformation Lead
IAG Transform
About Us
We are part of International Airlines Group (IAG), one of the world's leading airline groups and owner of some of the biggest brands in the sky.
IAG Transform provides creative and innovative solutions to drive sustainable transformation by delivering procurement and airline services, as well as group-wide systems across IAG. Each operating company benefits from the Transform centralised model, driving efficiencies, automation, and economies of scale.
Purpose of the role
Responsible for leading end-to-end sourcing and transformation initiatives across MRO categories (Components, Rotables, Avionics, Landing Gear, W&B, C&E, Cabin), ensuring alignment of commercial models (PBH, Repair, Hybrid) with operational performance (TAT, AOG support, reliability) and multi-airline requirements across OpCos.
Drives category strategy implementation through deep cross-functional collaboration (Engineering, Supply Chain, Fleet, Finance) to standardise specifications, harmonise technical requirements across airlines, and define sourcing strategies that leverage scale, optimise inventory (pooling vs ownership), and improve supply chain resilience. Leads complex RFPs, including analysis of cost structures (FHR, repair, logistics), benchmarking, negotiation of commercial and operational KPIs, and robust contract drafting (penalties, TAT/SPT, availability guarantees, escalation clauses).
Provides global category coverage focused on delivering measurable value across key levers:
Cost optimisation (FHR reduction, repair competitiveness, FX/exposure management)
Operational performance (TAT reduction, AOG response, service levels)
Inventory efficiency (pool optimisation, surplus/teardown integration, working capital reduction)
Supply base strategy (consolidation, capability assessment, capacity validation)
Digitalisation (e-Sourcing, data analytics, automation of transactional flows)
Risk management (single-source exposure, capacity constraints, contractual gaps)
Ensures strong governance and contractual compliance across all OpCos, embedding clear KPIs, performance management frameworks, and supplier accountability mechanisms, while continuously challenging market benchmarks and driving long-term transformation of the MRO supply chain.

Your responsibilities
- Implement MRO category strategies as defined by the Head of Category and Category Leads by leading end-to-end sourcing initiatives across key component domains (Rotables, Avionics, Landing Gear, W&B, C&E, Cabin), ensuring full alignment between commercial models (PBH, Repair, Hybrid) and operational requirements (TAT, AOG, reliability) across all OpCos.
- Lead complex supplier negotiations covering full MRO cost structures, including FHR, repair rates, logistics, escalation clauses and FX exposure, through both remote and in-person engagement, ensuring optimal balance between cost, performance, and risk mitigation.
- Draft and negotiate robust MRO agreements using IAG GBS contractual frameworks (or supplier paper where required), in coordination with Legal, ensuring inclusion of critical terms such as TAT/SPT commitments, availability guarantees, penalty regimes, capacity validation and governance structures.
- Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Fleet and Finance stakeholders to define and standardise RFP specifications, structure sourcing strategies (pooling vs ownership, repair vs replace), select suppliers, define milestones and establish evaluation criteria aligned with technical, operational and commercial priorities.
- Provide clear MRO-specific methodologies and governance to Procurement teams for RFP analysis, including benchmarking of FHR, repair cost drivers, logistics structures, and assessment of supplier capacity, network capabilities, and risk exposure.
- Develop and manage structured communication channels and stakeholder governance forums across Group Procurement and OpCos, ensuring alignment on sourcing decisions, specification harmonisation and supplier strategy execution.
- Lead governance and decision-making related to external MRO spend, ensuring full contractual coverage, KPI tracking, supplier performance management, and compliance with agreed operational and financial targets across all airlines.
- Drive specification simplification and technical standardisation across the Group (including part numbers, configurations, repair scopes), enabling scale benefits, inventory optimisation, and reduction of complexity across fleets.
- Deliver commercial innovation through proactive engagement with the MRO supply base, introducing new models (PBH optimisation, integrated logistics, teardown/surplus strategies, digital solutions) to improve cost, service levels and working capital.
- Collaborate seamlessly with Procurement Operations Centre (POC) functions (Supplier Intelligence, Procurement, Planning) to deliver fully integrated sourcing processes, incorporating market intelligence, demand planning, and supplier capability assessments into decision-making.
- Actively develop supplier markets by identifying new capabilities, validating capacity and technical scope, and strengthening strategic partnerships, while maintaining continuous engagement with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure evolving operational needs are met.
Your skills, experience and qualifications
Essential
- Proven track record of leading complex MRO negotiations in a multinational, multi-airline environment, covering PBH, Repair and Hybrid agreements, with demonstrated ability to optimise FHR, manage cost drivers (repair, logistics, FX) and balance commercial outcomes with operational performance (TAT, AOG support).
- Strong experience in drafting and negotiating MRO contractual frameworks, including incorporation of critical terms such as TAT/SPT commitments, availability guarantees, penalty regimes, escalation mechanisms, and clear governance/KPI structures, in coordination with Legal teams.
- Deep understanding of the MRO lifecycle across key components (Rotables, Avionics, Landing Gear, W&B, C&E, Cabin), including repair processes, pooling models, supply chain constraints, and market dynamics (OEMs, independents, teardown/surplus), with strong awareness of supplier capabilities and capacity risks.
- Advanced commercial and financial acumen, with ability to analyse and challenge supplier cost models (FHR, repair pricing, logistics structures), perform benchmarking, assess total cost of ownership, and identify value levers across cost, cash and operational performance.
- Proven ability to influence and align diverse technical, operational and commercial stakeholders (Engineering, Supply Chain, Fleet, Finance) across multiple OpCos, driving specification harmonisation, sourcing alignment and consensus on complex trade-offs between cost, service levels and risk.
- Demonstrated capability to operate in high-pressure MRO environments, managing ambiguity, conflicting priorities and operational disruptions (e.g. AOGs, capacity shortages), using sound judgement, resilience and structured decision-making to maintain continuity and deliver outcomes.
- Strong prioritisation and execution discipline, ensuring delivery of sourcing initiatives within tight timelines, limited supplier capacity, and evolving fleet/operational requirements, while maintaining focus on strategic objectives.
- Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement, with focus on enhancing procurement processes (e-Sourcing, automation, data-driven decision making) and strengthening governance across MRO supply base management.
