Regional Clinical Procurement Lead Nurse

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NWSSP Procurement Services in a senior clinical leadership role as Lead Regional Clinical Procurement Nurse, supporting Swansea Bay and Hywel Dda University Health Boards.
The post holder will provide senior clinical leadership across the region, drawing on significant post-registration experience and specialist knowledge of medical and surgical products. Acting as a key link between clinicians and Procurement Services, the role focuses on improving patient outcomes through product evaluation, rationalisation, and the promotion of value-based healthcare.
Recognising the challenges of attracting high-calibre candidates, NWSSP offers flexibility through a choice of bases across the South West Wales region, with the post holder expected to have a primary focus on Glangwili General Hospital and Morriston Hospital.
Main duties of the job
Working collaboratively with clinicians, procurement teams, and regional partners, the post holder will provide expert clinical leadership to support the delivery of regional and national procurement strategies and drive service improvement across organisations. The role requires credibility and influence at senior level to engage key stakeholders, lead multidisciplinary groups, and contribute to All Wales and national initiatives, ensuring procurement practices are safe, compliant, and aligned to best practice and sustainability objectives. The post holder will build and maintain strong, effective working relationships with senior clinicians, nursing leaders, procurement colleagues, and external stakeholders. They will support and influence clinical practice change across organisations and represent the region at All Wales and national forums, contributing to strategic discussions and ensuring regional priorities are reflected in wider decision-making. The role will provide specialist clinical insight to inform sourcing decisions, contract management, and the successful delivery of procurement initiatives. The post holder will maintain professional competence through continuous professional development, remain up to date with developments in clinical procurement and health policy.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
