Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We're looking for a Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM) to join the Procurement Team
- Responsible for managing and optimising the performance, value, and risk profile of designated third-party suppliers across SMBC EMEA.
- Lead supplier engagement, governance, contract performance monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure suppliers deliver against contractual commitments and business expectations.
- Lead the evolution and continuous enhancement of the third-party supplier segmentation framework to enable improved risk management, performance oversight, and strategic supplier engagement.
- Demonstrable experience in Supplier Relationship Management, Procurement or Third-Party Risk Management within a regulated or financial services environment.
- Strong experience managing complex vendors, contracts or service arrangements.
- Proven ability to develop governance frameworks, KPIs, and supplier performance metrics.

Position Description
Supplier Relationship Management
- Lead day-to-day and strategic management of assigned suppliers, acting as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders.
- Drive a consistent and structured SRM approach aligned with the TPM framework.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure transparency, trust, and collaboration.
Performance & Contract Management
- Develop and manage supplier KPIs, scorecards and performance metrics.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, service reviews and governance meetings.
- Track and report on performance trends, escalations, risks, and improvement plans.
- Ensure suppliers meet obligations related to service delivery, compliance, and contractual commitments.
- Support contract renewals, amendments and commercial negotiations in partnership with Procurement.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Maintain accurate documentation, audit trails, and supplier data within internal systems.
- Support supplier segmentation and governance frameworks.
- Value Creation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements and enhanced service quality.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement initiatives with strategic suppliers.
- Monitor spend and ensure alignment to budgeting, forecasting, and category strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business stakeholders to ensure that supplier performance supports operational and strategic needs.
- Facilitate strong cross-functional collaboration across Procurement, Risk, Legal, Infosec, Finance, and the business units.
- Provide clear and concise reporting for leadership, governance forums and committees.
