 Hydrotechnical Hazard Engineer (Pipeline Project - Oil and Gas) - Remote


  1. Responsibilities
  • Perform hydrological analysisand hydrodynamic modeling along the pipeline route to assess flood inundation, depth, and velocity.
  • Identify and evaluate risks of riverbank erosionand scour at pipeline crossings of rivers and swamps.
  • Design drainage systemsand flood protection structures (e.g., revetments, diversion levees).
  • Integrate hydrological hazard assessments into pipeline route optimization and design standards.
  • Prepare technical reports on hydrological hazards and mitigation measures.
  • Draw detailed construction drawings for Hydrological disasters design.
  1. Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or Water Resources Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with preference for international O&G project experience, especially in tropical rainforest hilly areas or similar environments like PNG and TOTAL project experience.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., HEC-RAS, MIKE, Delft3D).
  • Strong skills in GIS for watershed delineation and spatial analysis.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design tools for engineering drawings.
  • Familiar with Australia engineering standards.
  • Language: Fluent in English (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate effectively with international teams and stakeholders.
