Do you want your security expertise to make a genuine impact on Australia's national security?

At KBR, we operate in complex and high‑risk environments-protecting Australia's Defence assets and critical infrastructure when it matters most. As a SCEC Engineer / Consultant, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping secure facilities, managing complex risk, and delivering trusted advice on projects of true national importance.

This role is ideal for an experienced SCEC‑endorsed professional with a background in security engineering, electrical engineering, or ICT, who enjoys working in technically complex and highly regulated environments.

Your Impact:

As a senior professional and SCEC consultant, you will provide trusted security advice to Defence and government clients while helping to design, assure, and protect some of Australia's most sensitive facilities.

You will:
  • Deliver expert advice on physical and electronic security solutions in alignment with SCEC and Protective Security requirements.
  • Lead and support site inspections, risk assessments, and compliance audits in secure, high‑threat environments.
  • Contribute to the design, review, and assurance of secure facilities for Defence and government agencies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate physical security, ICT, and electronic systems.
  • Stay ahead of emerging threats, risks, and technologies to ensure best‑practice security outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, stakeholders, approving authorities and industry representatives.

What You'll Bring?

To succeed in this role, you'll have:
  • SCEC Endorsed Consultant accreditation (strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PSPF, DSPF, ISM, ASIO standards and related security frameworks.
  • A background in security consulting and technology, electrical engineering, or ICT, ideally within Defence, government, or critical infrastructure markets.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across stakeholders.
  • The capability to work autonomously while contributing to high‑performing, multidisciplinary teams.
  • An existing NV-1 security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one.

Additional Requirements:
  • Class 2 Security Licence (or eligibility in your state or territory)
  • Bachelor of Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in security consulting or a related technical discipline
  • SCEC Approved Security Zone registration (or eligibility)
