CCL Global are currently recruiting for a Welding Engineer for an FEED & Detail Design project in the UK. The successful Candidate will be in in charge of the Central Processing Facility Package reporting to the Engineering Manager. You will ensure that all activities, deliverables and documents (internal and external) related to the Welding discipline are timely issued, executed and fit for purpose during Detailed Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases.

Type of Contract: 24 months
Key duties will include:
- To adhere to Project H3SE and ensure that HSSEQ issues and requirements are correctly handled and met in all the disciplines-related technical documents and fabrication/construction activities.
- To ensure that safe working practices are used within the Package along all phases of the Project.
- To be informed of disciplines-related Project Specifications and international norms and standards, taking knowledge from them to application to the Project.
- To issue and maintain all the necessary technical documentation related to the disciplines.
- To ensure that contractual scope of work is duly and timely performed by Contractor.
- To ensure daily liaison with Contractor with regards to discipline-related matters and participate in weekly/monthly coordination meetings with Contractor as appropriate.
- To ensure follow-up / review / validation of progress performed by Contractor regarding his/her disciplines and analyses/reports drifts that could occur and propose remedial solutions.
- To supervise and control the Detailed Engineering by timely reviewing the disciplines-related documentation issued by Contractor, Subcontractors and Suppliers (WPS / WPQR / technical documentation / queries / Deviation Requests...), to ensure full compliance with Project Specifications, procedures, international norms and standards with the objective to ensure respect of the schedule and to optimize costs without impacting required level of Quality and Safety. To raise consequently necessary comments and highlight unsafe design, deviations, unacceptable / unjustified design choices, constructability issues etc.
- To ensure adequate and timely reporting to the Engineering Manager on progress and concerns, and in a general manner, anticipates problems, proposes potential optimizations, improvements and solutions with regards to his/her disciplines.
- To liaise and interface actively with other discipline specialists the disciplines-related matters and on all engineering, procurement, constructability, operability and maintainability matters ensure consistency of the work.
- To suggest, organize and participate in all necessary inspections and Quality Walkthrough and give advice on the matter with regards to disciplines related matters.
- To attend, when required to KoM, PIM and any ad-hoc meeting with Contractor, Subcontractors and Suppliers.
- To assist Company Representatives in the supervision of all discipline-related activities at workshops and fabrication sites, in particular:
- Witness of welding qualifications (PQR/WPS, Welders, Operators),
- Witness of mechanical/corrosion testing,
- Assessment and evaluation of welding environment and facilities, equipment, including arrangements for personnel protection and HSE,
- Examination and assessment of materials and welding consumables management,
- Witness any special processes such as Heat Treatment, Induction Bending, Forging, Cladding etc.
- To assess and follow-up Contractor welding performance and propose improvement or remedial plan,
- To ensure confidentiality of all the discipline-related documentation produced whatever its support,
- To gather and ensure lesson-learnt (“REX”) are considered and participate to the issuance of feed-back for his/her disciplines and participate to Project Close-out activities / Report.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years in Oil and Gas projects
- Previous experience with international Engineering EPC Contractors on projects of similar scale.
- 10 years of experience, with significant work as a Welding Engineer for Oil & gas Projects.
- Previous experience with international Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contractors on projects of similar scale,
- Knowledge of design and construction code for piping (such as ASME B31.3), structural (such as AWS D1.1) pressure vessels (such as ASME BPVC),
- International Welding Engineer diploma (such IIW, EWF, ESSA) (essential),
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (material/metallurgical, mechanical engineering or related field.
