Build Your Project Management Career with CBO

CBO is growing its Project Services team, and we're looking for Project Managers who are building their consulting careers and ready to take the next step.

You'll join a high-performing team delivering projects that matter. Our work spans system implementations, regulatory change, and organisational transformation across financial services, legal, public sector, and commercial industries.

This role suits someone with a solid foundation in project delivery who wants to build their capability in a structured, quality-focused consultancy environment. You'll work closely with experienced Project Managers, Business Analysts, and senior team members, with opportunities to take on more responsibility as your experience grows.

As part of CBO, you'll work flexibly across client sites, our offices, and from home, contributing to delivery where it's needed.

What the role involves

As a Project Manager at CBO, you'll support and lead elements of project delivery, helping ensure work is delivered in a controlled, practical, and high-quality way.

You will:
  • Business-critical projects and workstreams from initiation through to delivery
  • Manage core aspects of delivery, including planning, risks, issues, and reporting
  • Work closely with clients to understand their objectives and support delivery of agreed outcomes
  • Collaborate with business, technology, and operational stakeholders across different teams and sectors
  • Apply structured delivery approaches (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) in a practical, proportionate way
  • Contribute to clear documentation, governance, and delivery standards across engagements

You will also:
  • Work alongside experienced project professionals, learning through delivery and mentoring
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, training, and continuous improvement
  • Build experience across different types of change, including technology, regulatory, and process transformation

This role provides a strong platform for development, with clear progression opportunities over time.

Requirements

We're looking for individuals with experience in project delivery who want to build their career in a consulting environment.

You should have:
  • Experience supporting or managing projects using structured methodologies (e.g. APM or similar)
  • Experience working on system implementations, digital change, or business transformation initiatives
  • The ability to manage core delivery activities, including planning, coordination, and stakeholder communication
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with a structured approach to managing priorities
  • Confidence working with stakeholders and contributing to client-facing discussions
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to take ownership and deliver to a high standard

Desirable:
  • A recognised project management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ or equivalent)
  • Experience in financial services, utilities, legal, public sector, or other regulated environments
  • Exposure to consulting or multi-client delivery environments

All candidates must have UK right to work and be based in Guernsey or Jersey.

Benefits

About CBO

CBO is a digital and business transformation consultancy based in the Channel Islands. Since 2011, we've worked alongside clients to deliver complex change across financial services, public sector, legal, and commercial organisations.

We're known for the way we work as much as what we deliver - practical, collaborative, and focused on doing the job properly. We build long-term relationships with our clients, acting as a trusted partner and staying close to delivery from start to finish.

Our Project Services practice sits at the heart of CBO. It brings together a strong team of Project Managers who deliver change with clarity, structure, and control, while keeping things proportionate and practical.

As a corporate partner of the Association for Project Management, we invest in developing our people and applying best practice in a way that works in the real world - not just on paper.

What CBO offers

At CBO, you'll be part of a team that takes pride in its work and supports each other to do it well. We focus on quality, but also on creating an environment where people can develop and enjoy what they do.

We offer:
  • A competitive salary, based on experience and capability
  • 25 days' holiday, plus 5 paid charity/community days
  • 5% employer pension contribution
  • A guaranteed £1,500+ annual training budget
  • Support to achieve professional qualifications (e.g. APM PMQ)
  • Clear, personalised development pathways with real progression opportunities
  • Flexible hybrid working across client site, office, and home
  • High-quality equipment and modern office environments in Guernsey and Jersey

You'll also be part of a supportive, collaborative team, working alongside experienced professionals who care about delivering good work and helping others develop along the way.
