Discipline

As a Transport Consultant in our Rail and Transit Advisory team, you'll be making a positive, sustainable difference to our world. We are seeking a highly motivated, confident individual to support:
  • Delivery of proposals and projects to International Financial Institutions across the globe. The proposals and project work will range in technical and geographical nature, but your focus will be multi-modal transport strategy development and project preparation for transport projects covering all modes across Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and Middle East and primarily be delivered from the UK.
  • Delivery of work to Rail and Highways clients in the UK. Work will include project management / coordination support and rail / transport planning across a variety of transport projects.
  • Bidding activities as required.
  • Business development activity within the Rail and Transit Advisory team.
  • We are constantly striving to work collaboratively with our clients to deliver world class projects, and as such you may be expected to travel for short periods overseas. Collaborating with teams in the UK and abroad, your skills will be welcome in our mix. You'll also be trusted with more responsibility sooner, while supported to develop in a direction that suits you.


Your role

As part of our Transport Advisory team, you will join us in being committed to delivering our Business Plan. You will be responsible for:

  • Your day-to-day role will provide you with a positive challenge to utilise and develop your existing skillset.
  • You will provide energy, interest and expertise to help our clients resolved emerging challenges facing the transport sector such as addressing climate change and delivering future mobility.
  • You will be part of our multidisciplinary teams focused on delivering high quality outputs for our clients.
  • You will have the ability to work as part of our dynamic and integrated team, and autonomously when required.
  • You will prepare reports and presentations for a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will interface directly with clients to manage and nurture long lasting relationships.
  • You will contribute to business development and bid writing.
  • You will provide project management support to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery to our clients.
  • You will be empowered and supported to continually develop yourself and those around you.
  • You will be expected to travel overseas.


About you

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in transport planning, economics or related subjects.
  • A post-graduate qualification would be advantageous.
  • Experience and in-depth understanding of the transportation industry, preferably across multiple modes.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong report writing capability, with the ability to prepare and present information to a range of audiences.
  • Excellent numeracy skills to analyse and assure complex problems.
  • A proven track record of delivering high quality analysis to tight deadlines.
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment combined with the drive and ability to work independently.
  • Experience in client and stakeholder management and the confidence to build your own networks.
  • Exemplary bid writing skills and project management support capability.
  • Technical experience in the tools and techniques associated with transport planning, urban planning, policy, strategy and transport economics.
