Reporting to the Field Project Controls Lead, the Field Cost Specialist works closely with the Project Construction Team in a Project Services support role. This role will provide project controls support to Pikka North Slope & town-based project personnel and serves as a key interface for Construction Contractor project controls staff. This role is responsible for monitoring contractor performance as well as identifying cost and schedule variances for escalation and resolution with support from the Project and Contractor teams.
As a representative, it is required that this role provides Safety and Environmental leadership. This role is required to participate in Contractor and safety meetings and is required to speak up if unsafe acts are witnessed.

Position Purpose
The Field Cost Specialist contributes to the following key project services processes and deliverables in support of project execution.
- Demonstrate understanding of project execution plan and contracting strategies including cost and schedule elements.
- Facilitate contractor alignment to project controls requirements.
- Facilitate contractor alignment to work and cost breakdown structures including SAP Network / Activity codes
- Assure contractor cost and schedule performance reporting.
- Monitor contractor performance and provide analysis.
- Perform field cost forecasting, trending and control.
- Work with Construction Managers to verify services and accurately create Service Entry Sheet for invoice payment.
- Support field management of change including contractor schedule recovery planning and change orders.
- Facilitate Request for Information process in support of Fabrication and Construction.
- Participate in cost and schedule risk assessments.
- Perform Owner cost reporting as required.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Promote and lead in the implementation of policies and procedures, including Safety, health, environment, process, people and planning
- Facilitate contractor alignment to the Project Execution Plan and applicable requirements
- Monitor and QA Construction Contractor cost and schedule reports; flag issues to Project Team
- Participate in contractor performance and progress meetings
- Review field changes for cost and schedule impacts; proactively communicate impacts to project MCS and budgets.
- Facilitate Request for Information process in support of Fabrication and Construction
- Upon receipt of invoice work with appropriate Project Manager to verify services and accurately create Service Entry Sheet for invoice payment
- Interface with Construction Contractor project controls staff as needed
- Produce regular and ad hoc cost reports for Construction Team
- Interface and coordinate with the town-based Project Services team to ensure that field contractor performance updates are incorporated accurately and timely in integrated project reporting deliverables.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Project or Construction Management with 10 years of experience.
- Any relevant project cost or schedule certifications highly desirable.
Experience
- A broad experience with oil and gas exploration and production projects with a good understanding of building upstream surface facilities, drilling and reservoir management.
- Project management including project controls experience.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage strategy implementation while ensuring quality control and attention to HSE.
- Exceptional productivity skills. Can be relied upon to get the job done accurately and on time.
