Job Purpose
The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Asset Management Lead Engineer is responsible for developing strategies, performing analyses, and creating plans that enable National Grid to build and maintain safe and reliable CNG facility operations while optimizing the return on investment from the company's CNG assets.

Salary - $124,000 - $146,000 a year

Job Purpose
The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Asset Management Lead Engineer is responsible for developing strategies, performing analyses, and creating plans that enable National Grid to build and maintain safe and reliable CNG facility operations while optimizing the return on investment from the company's CNG assets.
Key Accountabilities
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Provide risk-based asset management support of CNG assets in National Grid's New York facilities.
- Set the asset management strategy to improve reliability, manage risk, meet regulatory obligations, and deliver customer satisfaction at optimum cost with consideration for rate case implications.
- Work with Instruments & Regulator (I&R) Team to carry out field work and investigation to evaluate asset condition.
- Translate requirements and business objectives into well-defined asset replacement projects and life extension programs with clearly defined business cases.
- Develop, budget, and deliver asset plans for maintenance and capital investment to improve business performance for short (annual blanket work) and long term (10-year plan).
- Advance National Grid's Asset Management Maturity level in accordance with API 1173 and ISO 55001.
- Work with Process Safety team to implement and support process safety controls.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Able to operate within or supervise a project team or virtual team to achieve business objectives, plans and targets to enhance performance, condition, records and compliance with statutory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering Technology from an ABET accredited engineering school required.
- 4+ years of engineering experience or asset management at a CNG and/or process facility or similar
- Project Management experience is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in NY is a plus.
- Knowledge of NFPA 52A Code and ANSI/CSA NGV Standards is a plus.
- Knowledge of current trends within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Proficient with PC software applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
