Wood is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineering Coop student to join the Engineering team(s) within our Calgary, AB office. This will be a 16 month coop placement, expected to start in May 2025.

Help us design reliable and efficient gas compressor systems using sophisticated computer modelling techniques. Utilize your problem solving skills to assist our engineering team analyze and recommend solutions to compressors and piping systems.
We seek an individual with creativity and energy to prepare and refine computer models for compressor systems and provide technical project support. The successful well organized candidates will be technically adept, and team players.
You will have the rare opportunity to develop your technical engineering skills and understanding of dynamic machinery behaviour under the direct mentorship of our professional engineers. You will be a member of a team of machinery experts and will prepare engineering plans, reports, and interact with our globally based customers.

QUALIFICATIONS
- You possess an appetite to learn and a willingness to jump in for on-the-job training.
- Completed third year of Mechanical Engineering program
- Experience in Spaceclaim, SolidWorks, ANSYS Workbench and Finite Element Modelling software would be an asset

- Actively progress through the requirements to achieve Professional Engineer status in the relevant province (i.e., APEGA in Alberta)
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate across the project / client interfaces
- Must be a Canadian citizen or authorized to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood
