This position reports to
Production Engineering Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization's assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your expertise by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget. The work model for the role is #LI-Onsite. • Manage project planning, execution, and budgeting to support manufacturing transformation efforts. • Utilize knowledge of manufacturing processes that encompass both ferrous and nonferrous materials, various insulation types, press tools, sheet metal stamping, forging, sub-assembly techniques, and secondary processes such as heat and surface treatments. • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely part development and delivery, including joint inspections, tooling validation, and PPAP execution. • Review and approve Design for Manufacturing (DFM) documentation and identify localization opportunities in line with engineering requirements. • Work with global engineering and quality teams, including ABB US, to validate components and close open technical issues. • Contribute to cost reduction by identifying and implementing value engineering and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications for the role
- Diploma in Tool & Die making with minimum 5-10 years of experience in press tools development & sheet metal components from NTTF, GTTC,CTTC or any equivalent tooling institution. Or Diploma in Mechanical engineering with relevant experience.
- Proficient in Operational Excellence such as Kaizens, 5S, Value stream mapping, Theory of Constraints, Visual Display & Root cause analysis (RCA).
- Experience in solid modeling, Auto CAD,
- Knowledge on Press tools development, processes like Sheet metal stampings, Hot & cold forgings, sub-assemblies etc.
- Knowledge on Secondary heat treatment process , various types of surface treatment
- Good Communication in written on verbal and written.
