In the role of Marine Engineer, you will act as an independent Marine Engineer on various projects.
You will contribute to delivering high-quality and cost-effective Marine Systems designs for our client’s products, particularly focusing on FPSOs and potentially Floating LNG products.
This role may occasionally involve high workloads due to peaks in project scope for your discipline.
You may also be requested, if required, to work on assignments in other project offices or shipyards around the globe on a short- or long-term basis.
Job Requirements
Our client is seeking candidates who have an MSc or BSc degree or equivalent (e.g., Professional Certification) in Marine Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Higher Seafaring College, or General Operational Technology (AOT).
You must have experience in Marine Systems Engineering and Design, preferably in PreFEED, FEED, and detailed design phases.
Additionally, you should have:
• In-depth experience and sound technical knowledge in both conceptual and
detailed design of marine and production systems on floating and production units
(e.g., FSOs, FPSOs, oil & gas carriers, chemical tankers, drilling units,
semisubmersibles, TLPs) for the oil and gas industry.
• Strong interface knowledge with related disciplines such as Naval, E&I, Piping,
HVAC, Process, Technical Safety, and Regulatory.
• Preferably, experience in or with shipyards, shipboard operations, and marine
equipment vendors or manufacturers.
• Experience in engineering, design, or operation of LNG carriers is an advantage.
• Familiarity with the latest marine systems and equipment technology, with the
ability to specify and evaluate equipment suitability, balancing technological
advancement with commercial awareness.
• Knowledge of classification societies’ rules (e.g., ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyd’s
Register) and international regulations, with an emphasis on implementing Health,
Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies.
• Familiarity with review methods such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, HP/LP Reports,
and SIF Reports.
