This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's 2,500 rooms.
The role
As a Construction Project Engineer - Mechanical Piping , you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll lead, manage and motivate the team through implementation of best practice, support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures and ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site license requirements.
Day to day, you'll deliver Mechanical & Piping Construction Workpacks to support the MEH Alliance programme as well as providing and demonstrating a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
Key duties include:
This is a full-time role with 37 hours per week based in Bridgwater, Somerset. We operate a 9 day fortnight (every other Friday off).

- Enable topographical and other surveying activities required for MEH Alliance construction works.
- Prioritise and assign ownership of documentation to facilitate construction works in line with the Level 4 plan, with acceptance at least T-3 months prior to works.
- Ensure all documents are compliant with the latest works information and other relevant MEH documentation.

- Experience working on major construction projects, with proven track record of working in a highly regulated sector and knowledge and experience in Safe Systems of Work

- Experienced in delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including experience working within Joint Ventures
Qualifications for the Construction Project Engineer - Mechanical Piping
- HNC/ONC or equivalent vocational training and experience of installing Mechanical and Piping systems.
