LOCATION: New Braunfels, TX (Field Service at Client Sites)

CONTEXT: Our client, a leading provider of drilling services, is seeking a skilled and experienced Drilling Service Technician to join their team. This role is integral to providing mechanical and electrical service support for the installation, maintenance, and demobilization of mud cooling equipment across various drilling rig sites. The ideal candidate will bring 2+ years of drilling rig experience and a solid background in electrical work to ensure the efficient operation of critical equipment in challenging field environments. This role will be based in New Braunfels, TX, and will require frequent travel to drilling sites for service calls. Training will be provided to ensure all technicians have the tools and knowledge needed to succeed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide mechanical and electrical service support for the installation, maintenance, and demobilization of mud cooling equipment at various drilling rig sites.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems on drilling rigs, including mud cooling systems and related equipment.
• Interface directly with clients to offer technical support and ensure their drilling operations run smoothly.
• Ensure safety protocols and industry standards are met at all job sites.
• Maintain detailed service logs, including reports on equipment conditions, maintenance activities, and client interactions.
• Work in extreme weather conditions, including high temperatures and challenging terrain.
• Be on-call 24/7 during your 7-day shift rotation, responding to emergency service calls as needed.
• Maintain communication with the service yard in New Braunfels and report back with service updates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years of experience working on drilling rigs (motorman, tool pusher, derrick hand, or similar roles) is required.
• Strong electrical experience is a must.
• Must be able to pass a physical fitness test and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems in a field environment.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, etc.).
• Strong communication skills to interface with clients and team members effectively.
• Must have reliable transportation to the service yard in New Braunfels, TX.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
• Prior experience with mud cooling systems is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to work extended hours and remain on-call during the shift rotation.
• Training will be provided to ensure all technicians are fully equipped with the necessary skills to succeed in this role.
