Senior Mechanical Engineer 

Location: Qatar 

Job Type: Contract

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze, determine root cause failures, and recommend remedial solutions to ensure proper troubleshooting of reported problems on static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, flares, filters, various packages, and cranes.
• Support maintenance, asset integrity, and operations with daily activities.
• Manage the Concept/FEED/EPC design work for asset development projects carried out by contractors and managed in-house.
• Conduct remaining life and fitness for service assessments.
• Provide all asset-related inputs to major project teams with respect to mechanical static equipment.
• Ensure efficient project implementation, proactive facility improvement, and technical integrity in conjunction with QatarEnergy Standards and Shell DEP for the Idd El Shargi’s surface facilities specific to static equipment.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred or actively working towards it.

️ Experience:

• Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas onshore/offshore industry, covering both brownfield and greenfield projects.
• At least 10 years in facilities design (front-end, conceptual, and detailed design).
• Minimum of 5 years in project execution, including construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance (including field troubleshooting).
• Proficient in standard computer software such as Microsoft applications.
• Well-versed in mechanical design software such as Pvelite & CodeCal or equivalent, and familiar with international codes and standards.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment.
• Strong logical thinking and analytical skills.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and written skills.
• Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and take initiative.
• Working knowledge of company business processes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in managing and measuring work using appropriate metrics and key performance indicators.
