Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within VTO, you'll find our department, Mechanical Engineering NCE, as part of Regional Engineering & Technology-NCE.
Regional Engineering & Technology-NCE is key in supporting the regional Service and Construction organizations by offering technical guidance to ensure the seamless installation and operation of Vestas Wind Turbines Generators in both onshore and offshore settings.
The department is structured into four specialized teams
Offshore Mechanical Engineering Team is a sub-department of Mechanical Engineering NCE, the Offshore Mechanical Engineering team is comprised of 5 highly skilled and experienced professionals based in Aarhus, Denmark. The team provides direct technical assistance to the offshore Service organization, ensuring smooth operations. The role includes a significant emphasis on preparing for the expanding Offshore Service business. This involves identifying regional needs for capabilities, processes, and resources across all Regional Engineering & Technology-NCE teams and representing the Engineering function in internal cross-functional workstreams focused on offshore readiness.

The team provides direct technical assistance to the offshore Service organization, ensuring smooth operations. The role includes a significant emphasis on preparing for the expanding Offshore Service business. This involves identifying regional needs for capabilities, processes, and resources across all Regional Engineering & Technology-NCE teams and representing the Engineering function in internal cross-functional workstreams focused on offshore readiness.
Responsibilities
- Provide disciplinary and functional leadership to a team of 5 mechanical engineers with a primary offshore focus. Manage the team by setting clear operational priorities and aligning tasks with organizational goals
- Nurture a collaborative and effective culture by supporting team members in a matrix organization and ensuring their continuous professional development
- Deliver high-level engineering support to regional offshore Service organizations, addressing operational needs
- Act as the functional representative in customer and supplier meetings, as well as industry seminars, to promote team capabilities and build relationships
- Facilitate the sharing of technical knowledge across Regional Engineering & Technology-NCE, global engineering teams, Continuous Improvement (CIM) teams, and the Vestas Technology & Operations function
- Manage the offshore readiness initiatives across Regional Engineering & Technology-NCE, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Represent the team in internal cross-functional workstreams focused on offshore readiness and capability building. Support the tendering phase to secure optimal service packages from existing suppliers. Assist in identifying and developing new suppliers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in an Engineering discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience handling engineering teams, particularly in roles involving high customer interaction within an engineering function
- Solid understanding of the offshore wind industry, including technical problems related to offshore wind turbine service
- Good presentation skills, with the confidence and ability to deliver presentations to senior management both internally and externally
- Clear and effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written; proficiency in German or Danish is beneficial
