The Technical Support Production Engineer is a position within the Technical Support Department that provides engineering to support and improve processes in the manufacturing of carbon composite turbine blades for ongoing and new operations by performing the following.

Responsibilities:

• Designs methods and collaborates on ideas for maintaining or increasing production levels while improving production costs, yields, quality, and safety.

• Works closely with Production staff to meet production plan.

• Handles process problems and identifies solutions which reduce downtime and conserve maintenance costs.

• Monitors process equipment to identify potential errors and develops solutions to eliminate the reoccurrence of those problems.

• Designs and conducts plant trials to determine performance capabilities.

• Develops and updates process procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable.

• Understand and handle various Production Support Systems.

• Determines the test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement engineering changes.

• Interfaces with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation.

• Extensive support to production during introduction of new products, materials and technology.

• Systematic preventive maintenance.

• Monitoring and reduction of downtimes.

• Monitoring and reduction of process and product variations.

• Start-up of, and participation in, improvement projects.

• Start-up of, and participation in, capacity expansions/conversions.

• Follows budgets.

• Investment requests regarding the purchasing of new equipment/materials.

• Assign asset numbers for new equipment.

• Oversees processes.

• Establish OEE (overall equipment effectiveness).

• Initiates Maintenance setup analyses, continued improvement with equipment and to setup maintenance.

• PLC (Programmable Logic Controller).

• Front line support for programming and troubleshooting Robotic & automated equipment/machines.

• CAD drafting capability is beneficial (SolidWorks / AutoCAD)

• Identifying PTS (Process Technical Specifications) or instructions when buying new equipment.

• Interpret PII (Process Instructions) and PWI (Process Work Instructions).

• Works with BOM (Bill of Materials).

• Implements Takt time planning.

• Works with revision controlled documentation structures.

• And all other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Engineer Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, or Manufacturing/Industrial with a broad understanding of Electrical and Chemical is ideal and up to 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to clearly present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

Advanced skills in Microsoft programs.

Salary $90,000 to $105,000/year depending on experience.
