JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is recruiting for an Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Perth, Western Australia as part of its Operations APAC West business. This is a permanent opportunity required to assist in various EPC packages for a key energy client.

Wood delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the oil and gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers, actively supporting operations in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and SouthEast Asia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be reporting directly to the Instrument Discipline Lead and working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, across some of world's most technically challenging brownfields Oil & Gas projects for Wood's Engineering group.

QUALIFICATIONS

Please note you must be an Australian citizen OR currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) OR have full working rights to work lawfully in Australia.

Ideally, you will be a qualified engineer with an Instrumentation / Mechatronics Engineering degree from a recognised institution, and have relevant experience in an instrumentation and controls engineer level role, within the Australian Oil & Gas industry within an EPCM / Engineering design office environment.

In addition you will have:
  • Knowledge of SPI for the development of Instrumention engineering deliverables, control systems, shutdown PLC hardware and software design
  • Extensive design and knowledge of applicable codes and standards (both international and Australian)
  • Proven experience managing risk during the design process consistent with technical and commercial requirements
  • Excellent analytical, literacy and numerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience in client facing roles
  • Be prepared to undertake site visits either onshore / offshore
