Role Overview
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current health and safety policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
- Review plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
- Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of various industrial control mechanisms and make recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure that buildings or products comply with health and safety regulations, especially after an inspection that required changes.
- Install safety devices on machinery or direct the installation of these devices.
- Review employee safety programs and recommend improvements.
Skills & Qualifications
- HSE experience with at least 10-15 years of offshore experience.
- Deepwater Production, Construction, P&A, and Projects preferred.
- Ability to coach, teach, and mentor others.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Investigation trained in methods such as TapRoot or Cause Mapping.
- Knowledge of waste management practices.
- Familiarity with NPDES and GHG regulations.
- Understanding of BSEE, USCG, and OSHA regulations.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, and Environment or related field preferred.
- Certifications in HSSE or relevant fields advantageous.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in HSE roles in the oil and gas industry.
