I am current working with a leading design consultancy currently looking for an Operations Manager to lead and grow the Victorian arm of the business. They specialise in providing design services in the water infrastructure sector and have been operating for over 10 years, completing projects up to $200m across Australia for both private and government clients. They are currently seeking a highly experienced engineer with proven leadership experience in the water infrastructure space to join the team and grow their Victorian business.

I am current working with a leading design consultancy currently looking for an Operations Manager to lead and grow the Victorian arm of the business. They specialise in providing design services in the water infrastructure sector and have been operating for over 10 years, completing projects up to $200m across Australia for both private and government clients. They are currently seeking a highly experienced engineer with proven leadership experience in the water infrastructure space to join the team and grow their Victorian business.
Role
- Manage a team of engineering professionals including performance management, hiring and support/training as well as overall leadership for the Melbourne team.
- Oversee a collection of projects from design through commission and handover.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business and provide support to projects across Australia.
- Be hands on and client facing with regards to stakeholder management and ensuring projects are being delivered on time and on budget.
- Participating in business development across the Victorian market, identifying opportunities and tendering on projects in the region.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, chemical or structural engineering.
- At least 10 years’ experience in the water infrastructure space, preferably in Victoria.
- Deep knowledge of the Victorian water market including tender and project opportunities.
- Proven ability to win business and manage stakeholder expectations at all stages of a project lifecycle.
- Extensive track record of designing/managing large water infrastructure projects.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong technical writing skills including attention to detail and accuracy.
- Chartered Professional Engineer status would be highly desirable.
