Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking an Emergency Power Supply (EPS) Solar Arrays Support Engineer to support the Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) satellite system program in Littleton, CO. GeoXO is NOAA's next-generation Geostationary Extended Observations satellite system, designed to revolutionize how we monitor Earth's atmosphere and oceans. GeoXO will deliver critical data to improve forecasts and increase preparedness for severe weather, air quality events, and harmful algal blooms. By enhancing public safety and delivering significant economic benefits, GeoXO represents a transformative step in safeguarding lives, property, and our nation's resilience.
This is a hybrid role that only requires onsite support two days per week.

Key Duties:
- Develop and maintain entry and exit criteria for EPS and solar array-related Preliminary design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) milestones.
- Analyze, design, and validate spacecraft EPS architectures, including solar arrays, power regulation, and distribution systems.
- Perform solar array sizing, power generation modeling, and degradation analysis to ensure mission longevity.
- Define and maintain power budgets for all mission phases.
- Track and verify EPS subsystem requirements, interfaces, and design documentation.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure solar array and power system integration meets program requirements.
- Review and validate EPS and solar array-related stakeholder slide decks, technical reports, and meeting minutes.
- Assign and track EPS and solar array-related action items and ensure timely completion.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with EPS engineers and stakeholders to track progress and resolve issues.
Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- 2 or more years of related experience.
- Experience in Emergency Power Systems (EPS) engineering.
- Understanding of power regulation, bus architectures (regulated/unregulated), and power electronics.
- Excellent technical documentation review and verification skills.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, with experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor's degree.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Strong knowledge of solar array technologies, power generation modeling, and degradation analysis.
- Familiarity with energy storage systems (e.g., lithium-ion batteries) and spacecraft power distribution.
- Experience with spacecraft power subsystems and solar arrays.
- Experience supporting NASA, NOAA, or aerospace defense programs.
- Familiarity with PDR/CDR review processes and milestone tracking.
