Description

CAMS Solar Services, LLC is hiring a Solar O&M Service Technician with knowledge in electrical systems and commercial solar space. Our Solar Service Technician will be responsible for completing service calls, troubleshooting solar site systems and electrical. Must have a strong safety mindset, an excellent work ethic, good communication and documenting skills. Site is located in Killeen, TX.

  • Strong safety orientation and the willingness and ability to work safely in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures and regulations
  • Experience in installing, maintaining and troubleshooting PV systems preferred
  • PV system site inspection experience preferred
  • Electrical knowledge/training experience of at least one year.
  • NFPA 70e training for safe electrical work
  • Understand the requirements for LOTO and to wear appropriate arc flash PPE required for the system being worked on
  • Must have good organization, communication, analytical, planning and customer service skills
  • Must be flexible, be able to adapt to new situations, have self-control and have high integrity
  • Must have flexibility to work during weekends and always be available on call. Occasion night shift work required
  • Competent skills using Microsoft office software's like Outlook, Excel, Word

Requirements

Solar Service Technician Responsibilities:

  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Company vehicle provided.
  • Responsible for working alone safely, including complying with all safety policies and procedures. Seeking ways to enhance safe operations.
  • Responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of Photovoltaic (PV) inverters, combiner boxes, solar panels and other components.
  • Able to replace/install hardware, PV modules, inverters, monitoring equipment and any other component within the solar site.
  • Perform commissioning of equipment depending on degree on maintenance needed in the following counties: Brockton, Worcester, and Southbridge.
  • Perform electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures.
  • Prepare reports, to comply with deliverables in O&M contracts.
  • Help in all areas of preventative and corrective maintenance as directed by manager with minimal supervision.
  • Attending training sessions on equipment as provided by the manufacturer and approved by the manager.
  • In the performance of your duties, use equipment and resources in accordance with instructions provided by the company.
  • Maintains adherence to Company policies, quality, environmental health and safety policies and good housekeeping practices.
  • Carry out any other tasks delegated by the company.

Other Desirable Skills
  • 2 years' experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting PV systems required.
  • PV System site inspection experience preferred.
  • Journeyman electrician preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Hour
