Job Title: Capital Projects Manager

Location: Petrochemical Facility

Schedule: Onsite 4 days/week, 10 hours/day

Portfolio: 4-8 capital projects

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage Capital Projects: Oversee projects from the design engineering phase through to completion, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out.
  • Project Types: Lead projects such as pressure vessel replacements, infrastructure upgrades, piping system replacements, building refurbishments, and rotating equipment replacements.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with a team to deliver on the annual sustaining portfolio, ensuring projects are executed within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Problem Solving: Tackle and resolve challenges that arise during project delivery, ensuring efficiency and successful project outcomes.
 

Requirements:

 

  • Educational Background: Technical background in Mechanical Engineering or Technologist (Chemical Engineering is an alternative).
  • Experience: Industrial facility background with experience on smaller capital projects (not just large-scale mega projects).
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience in the field with capital projects. Experience with SAP ERP is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and the ability to view projects holistically (seeing the big picture).
  • Work Schedule: Onsite 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to manage complex projects, ensuring they stay on schedule and maintain a focus on safety and quality.
 

Preferences:

  • Experience: Prior experience in an industrial facility environment
  • Software: Experience with SAP ERP is a significant asset.
