Job Title: Yard Engineering Lead

Role Overview:

The Yard Engineering Lead is responsible for overseeing construction, installation, and pre-commissioning activities related to Offshore Pipelines & Cables. This role ensures that all engineering and fabrication activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage a diverse, multicultural team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Engineering & Construction Oversight:
   • Lead and manage yard engineering activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
   • Oversee the fabrication, installation, and pre-commissioning of Offshore Pipelines & Cables at the yard.
   • Ensure that all construction work is performed per engineering designs, project specifications, and industry best practices.

    

2. Technical Compliance & Quality Assurance:
   • Ensure compliance with offshore oil & gas industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
   • Review and approve technical documents, drawings, and fabrication procedures before implementation.
   • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to resolve technical issues and optimize work execution.

    

3. Safety & Risk Management:
   • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols at the fabrication yard, minimizing risks and hazards.
   • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to promote a strong safety culture.
   • Implement corrective actions to address any engineering or safety concerns.

    

4. Team Leadership & Coordination:
   • Manage and mentor a multi-cultural team of engineers, supervisors, and contractors to achieve project objectives.
   • Foster effective collaboration between disciplines and project stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination between yard operations and offshore teams.
   • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to ensure smooth execution of yard activities.

    

5. Schedule & Progress Monitoring:
   • Track and report yard engineering progress, ensuring adherence to project schedules and milestones.
   • Identify bottlenecks and risks in yard activities and implement solutions to maintain productivity.
   • Prepare and present regular reports on work progress, technical challenges, and mitigation plans.

    

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent direct work experience).

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in construction, installation, and pre-commissioning within the offshore oil & gas industry.
• Extensive knowledge of Offshore Pipelines & Cables construction and installation methods.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams in a high-paced project environment.

Technical & Business Skills:

• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a Project Management Team (PMT).
• Computer literacy, including regular use of professional office applications and engineering software.
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and provide engineering solutions for yard fabrication challenges.

Working Schedule:

• Work hours per day: 10 hrs./day
• Work days per week: 6 days/week
• Work days per month: 26 days/month
