About the Role
A leading organization in the oil & gas sector is seeking an experienced Instrument Planner to support maintenance planning activities for automation systems. The role involves developing and executing maintenance plans, coordinating shutdowns, managing spare parts, and optimizing maintenance strategies to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance plans for automation systems, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and HSE standards.
- Prepare work orders, planning cards, and specifications for spare parts to support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and contractors to schedule maintenance, shutdown, and turnaround activities efficiently.
- Identify and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Conduct site inspections to verify work progress, assess maintenance requirements, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Prepare technical scopes of work for contractor services and participate in technical evaluations of contractor bids.
- Develop and review PM plans, recommending adjustments based on equipment performance analysis.
- Ensure accurate data entry in SAP/CMMS, maintaining updated maintenance histories and compliance with documentation procedures.
- Participate in meetings with production and maintenance teams to optimize maintenance strategies and execution.
- Support HSE initiatives, process safety, and continuous improvement efforts in maintenance planning.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Control or Instrumentation Engineering.
- 5-12 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance planning within the oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
- Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
- Proficiency in maintenance planning tools, CMMS, and SAP for work order management.
- Experience in shutdowns, turnarounds, and project coordination within maintenance operations.
- Knowledge of international codes and standards related to instrumentation and automation systems.
- Strong skills in inventory management, time management, and problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and safety procedures.
- Competency in MS Office, MS Project, and SAP/CMMS applications.
